Kuala Lumpur Vintage Festival

Kuala Lumpur Vintage Festival (KLVF) is a 5 day event from 28th August till 1st September. So if you have missed the first 4 days, fret not.... you still have one more day to go before it ends. Its from 10am to 10pm in Stadium Merdeka Kuala Lumpur.... right in the heart of the city. The entrance is just RM 1 per person.

You can see all the vintage enthusiast under one roof, from those who collect old papers, books, comics to old toys, coke bottles, suitcases and many more. It was visually pleasing for all vintage lovers. My husband went crazy looking at all the yesteryear items....

This event is brought to you by Pintu merah and its their 4th year running. This time they decided to have it in conjunction with our 57th Merdeka Celebration. And so we will get a lil more this year.... an open cinema under the moon featuring old movies....esp P. Ramlee movies, some documentaries on old Kuala Lumpur and its history. It will definitely bring out the spirit of patriotism in us.

The entrance through the Merdeka Stadium

We went there right after lunch... so it wasnt too crowded. I was definitely glad i didn't bring my 2 toddlers for the event as there wasn't much for the kids to do plus it was a lil hot. They were fast asleep at home while we shopped :)

close to 200 traders were down from all over the country to showcase their vintage collections

There were loads of antiques on sale as well and some of them brought back fond memories of my childhood.

old Ninja Turtle action figures

countless antique typewriters... they can help repair it too

classic bicycle

many coke cans and bottles from different countries
and some of which were produced in the 1960s

wooden posters

smaller ones for just RM 5 per piece

you can also find some t-shirts and ear ring with a lil retro touch to it

We got a few old comics ( the ones that my husband use to read when he was a lil boy ), Some vintage clothings for the lil ones who were fast asleep at home, some fridge magnets and some antique posters..... hubby loves collecting old stuff and he is planning to get a cupboard of some sort to store all these items. He already has some precious items at home lying untouched somewhere in the storeroom yet to be organized.

This event is a must go if you love vintage items, if you are an antique collector or you just want to relive a bygone era by looking at the countless vintage and antique items that are on display. If none of these excites you in any way.... then you might look into something else this weekend :)
