From now till 25th of Jan 2015

10am to 10pm

Publika Solaris Dutamas

Admission Free

These pandas have toured all over the country and had stopovers at 15 iconic landmarks and finally the're back in Publika for 2 weeks. This tour themed ''Initiating the culture of creative conservation'',  aims at increasing awareness on animal welfare and environmental conservation.

Paulo Grangeon, a french sculptor had created these adorable panda sculptures in various poses using recyled paper. You might ask why 1600 sculptures? Well it represents the number of pandas in the wild.

Hence its about time everyone realises the importance of  preserving these endangered species. If not our future generation would only be learning about the pandas in the Wikipedia.

Darlie - Bunny Kids Toothpaste

Its Good to teach oral hygiene when kids are much younger. I have two boys, a 4 year old and a 2 year old. Have I tried teaching them about the importance of oral hygiene ?

Yes, I've tried and tried again. The younger one seems lost but the elder one tries to ignore. But hey, I just need to continue this effort until one day they decide to understand & follow ( Im hoping this day will come real soon.....HELP !! )

Recently I received Toothpaste from Darlie that's called DARLIE BUNNY KIDS. Its newly improved formula using food grade ingredients. It comes in 4 different variants namely Strawberry, Orange, Apple and Cola.

How the pack looks like - it comes in 4 different variant

I've decided to let the kids choose their own flavors. I gave the elder one all 4 variants and asked him to choose one. I told him he can use a new toothpaste today and try it out.... he was kinda excited.

Orange, Strawberry, Cola & Apple

He took a while & finally decided on the Strawberry !

He tried brushing his teeth with the pea sized strawberry Darlie Bunny kids right after that. Well this is what he said.... "Mum, it tastes like jelly', and he continued brushing his teeth. The texture was very gel like and it was a pink transparent colour

How the Strawberry paste looked like

I gave the same 4 choices to the younger one and he picked the Cola flavour.  I helped him brush his teeth using the pea sized Cola bunny kids toothpaste, and he immediately pushed me away and said don't want. I kinda knew he is about to do that. He has not tried cola flavour before, whether its food or drink and hence he didnt like the flavour.

How the Cola flavour looked like

Im always worried as my kids tend to swallow their toothpaste.

Acknowledging that most children tend to swallow their toothpaste, Darlie has recently upgraded the formula of its Bunny Kids children's toothpaste range, with over 80% contents are now certified food grade.

In addition, this newly improved formula is also well noted for the following benefits :

contains calcium to help strengthen teeth

Contains fluoride to fight against cavities

Has low level of foam for gentle cleaning without irritation

Has no added sugar

A month after using this toothpaste this is what the kids have to say about it

The elder one - I think I like the strawberry flavour and the orange more & I want to brush everyday with this paste. While the younger one went with the strawberry flavour. He didnt like the other flavours that much.

Its easy to get them to brush now since they like using this new paste and hence I dont have to yell at them to brush when the time comes for brushing. So this makes a plus point for me

According to the survey that was carried out by the World Health Organisation (WHO ) in 2012, findings revealed that gingivitis and caries affect 60 - 90 % of children globally. There are several factors that contribute to these oral diseases.

Among them are poor oral hygiene, high intake of sweetened food such as sweets, chocolates and cakes as well as insufficient use of fluoride.

Therefore, children must be taught proper oral care including the right brushing techniques and using the right toothpaste at a young age

I hope this post here will help you realise how important it is to cultivate good oral hygiene at a very tender age

Out Of Africa - Bar & Grill

Out Of Africa

We decided to try out something new

A new place, with a different environment & new dish for the kids to try out.

It was a friday night & we decided to take the kids out..... My husband & I are trying out all possibilities for the kids to enjoy their meal as much as they can & at the same time introducing new flavours that they might like & cultivating better eating habits in them.

We got to know about this Restaurant called Out Of Africa & decided to check it out.

Its situated at the

 PJ Palms Sports Centre
No 1, Lorong Sultan, Petaling Jaya
46200 Selangor, Malaysia

The place was quite huge with many sections. The had the garden section, terrace fanned smoking area, Air-conditioned non smoking area & their famous Kudu Bar which is a non smoking area

My 2 lil toddlers went crazy when they saw the kiddies playground ! They had swings & slide just beside the restaurant.... they will definitely be entertained for the night. Mummy was GLAD !

Play area for the kids

Swings & slide just beside the restaurant

We were there around 7pm, the place was not so crowded & was kinda peaceful. We settled in comfortably, while the kids decided to snoop around the place.

The lil one was excited to see all the animal pictures around the place

Animal paintings on the walls

When you are there you feel as if you've been transported to the African World, with their diverse culture & tradition. You see many things that relates to the African Culture.

You can see many animal paintings on the walls. In Africa, each animal has a specific meaning to it. For example, the elephant signifies strength, wisdom & royalty. It also represents power.

My husband & I decided on the Pizzas. They had a wide variety of Pizza and these are some of it

Margherita - the basic with fresh basil

The Hawaiian - Turkey ham & pineapple

The Nkuku - Grilled Chicken, mushrooms, avocado and onions

The Cape - Pepperoni, anchovies, mushrooms & capers

The Bollywood - Spicy spinach with raita & spicy lamb sausage

The Big Blue - Blue cheese, cheddar cheese & mozzarella with or without sauce
( vegetarian )

We decided on the Nkuku pizza. Grilled chicken & mushrooms go so well together !

The Nkuku Pizza at the Out Of Africa

Nkuku Pizza - Grilled Chicken, Mushrooms, Avocado and onions

We enjoyed our pizza very much - it comes in thin crust which is homemade. Loved the grilled chicken pieces together with the juicy muchrooms. We also wanted it to be a lil spicy so we added the Tobasco to it !

We let the kids choose their own dishes and they decided on the fish & chips plus nuggets. This place offers kids menu.... and you have a whole list to choose from. Here are some of it

Penne with tomato or cheese sauce

Chicken breast nuggets

Two lamb chops

Mini sirloin steak

Fish & Chips

Hamburgers

Cheeseburgers

Their dishes comes with spinach and other vegetables. The kids ate all their fish , chips & nuggets. They didnt touch their spinach one bit though. Compared to the usual, the ate quite a big portion of the food. This is mainly because, they went to play at their playground in between hence they were extremely hungry and ate their dinner.

One thing that I really love about the place is that it had the playground for the kids to keep them occupied. I will definitely come back to this place to try out their other menu and of course maybe try out their Kudu Bar when my husband & I come alone without the kids ;)

WEVents - Presenting The Real You

The Real You by WEVents

Couple of weeks ago my friends & I attended yet another event by WEVents.
Their previous event was called The Retro Night. Read all about it here The Retro You

This time its themed 'The Real You'

It got me thinking a lil, and I wanted to join this for sure. I immediately messaged my friends & everyone was keen to participate.

What ?! Who ?! Where ?!

The Real You - Is it all about being true to yourself  ? Your faith ? Being who you really are and being comfortable just the way you look and feel without pretending ?!

In summary - Yes !
How a simple yet natural make up can change the way you see & feel about yourself
You dont have to be dramatic and change the way you look completely, you dont have to add too much of make up and use all the products that is available at the store near you just because someone says so .

And guess who came to share their tips & secret  ?! Bobbi Brown of course !! Mrs Carina from Bobbi Brown, who is also a working mum came to share some useful tips on how we can be comfortable yet be confident just by a touch of a lil magic.

Bobbi Brown

It was held early this month at Delicious in St Mary's Residence

As soon as we got there, we were asked to register & we got our goodie bags ! A female magazine, a couple of Bobbi Brown products and vouchers.... I was smiling ear to ear! Not only we get to be part of their event but also get to take their lovely goodies back home.... thats like double joy :)

Participants collecting their goodie bags

While waiting for others to arrive, we decided to grab some food. They had a wide spread of delicious finger food & desserts.

While happily munching away, I was approached by one of the WEVEnts team member. She asked me if I wanted to be a Bobbi Brown Model for the day.

Hmm.... Should I or shouldnt I ?! It was so sudden, I didnt have much time to think, I decided to accept the wonderful offer. But little did I know, that this offer comes with an interview too !

So the whole event was becoming more & more exciting.

Bobbi Brown's make up tools & products

Betty & I were asked to come forward. Our previous make up was removed by the help of our experienced Bobbi Brown make up artists. They have been with Bobbi Brown for more than 10 years. So just imagine how experienced each of them would be.

Getting my make up removed before the makeover

Mrs. Carina shared her tips on how to look beautiful with simple tips and tricks. The Bobbi Brown make up can do wonders to your skin, it can improve your complexion, hide your dark circles, reduces your age & it gives you the perfect glow.

Mrs. Carina sharing her tips

As for me, I need something to hide my dark circles. I dont get the usual 6-8 hours of sleep, so I cant depent on sleep to improve my dark circles. This is mainly because I work late nights. When I come back home, I have 2 lil toddlers who constantly get up in the middle of nights. So she gave us tips on how to use the corrector & concealer to hide the dark circles.

Corrector -  This helps to neutralise the darkness below the eyes and is to be used before the concealer. It also helps to brighten the dark circles

Concealer - Similar to foundation, it helps to hide different pigments. Helps to make skin more uniform in colour.

This is me after the makeover ! I cant see my dark circles !

This is Betty after her makeover. She is looking great !

A few days ago, I saw this in the papers !! Was thrilled to see myself in the papers.
